Annette Funicello was an American actor and singer. Her most famous role was "one of the original Mouseketeers" from the Mickey Mouse Club. Her singing began as a teenager and was popular for the smash songs "Tall Paul" as well as "Pineapple Princess." The girl was born and raised in Utica and with Italian immigrant parents, Annette was a shy child. She wished to build a career in the entertainment business and quickly turned to dancing and acting. The mid-1950s saw her gain a significant amount of recognition through her performances on "Disney" comedy sketches. Annette changed her Disney image when her age increased and she began to take to adult roles. The most well-known is an actor who pioneered the "beach-party" category. The films she appeared in included 'Pajama Party', 'How to Stuff a Wild Bikini' and 'Beach Party'. She also continued to release her albums with music periodically.
